The 2024 PSOI National Rankings Are Final!

Great news for the Indonesian surf sceneβ€”Asian Surf Co has officially finalized the 2024 PSOI (Persatuan Selancar Ombak Indonesia) National Rankings! You can check out the full rankings here: PSOI 2024 Rankings.

This is the second season of the PSOI National Rankings, created and managed by Asian Surf Co. What makes it special? Over 60 surf competitions across Indonesia were considered to determine the final rankings across 15 competition divisionsβ€”exclusively featuring Indonesian national surfers. Any Indonesian surfers competing for other national surfing federations, as well as international surfers, were not eligible for the final rankings.

Big Wins for Jasmine Studer & Made Pajar Ariyana

πŸ† Jasmine Studer, who claimed the #1 spot in the Open Women’s division, is beyond stoked:

β€œIt feels amazingβ€”I’m so happy with this achievement! I’ve been competing almost every week throughout the year, which has been tough, especially being away from home so much. But in the end, it’s all worth it. Last year, I was ranked #1 in Junior Women and #2 in Open Women, so securing #1 in Open Women this year was one of my biggest goals for 2024. I’m super grateful to everyone who supported meβ€”without my sponsors, family, and close friends, I wouldn’t have made it!”

πŸ† Over in the Open Men’s division, Made Pajar Ariyana finished the year on top and reflected on an incredible season:

β€œSeeing my name at the top feels really good. I gave it my all last year, putting 100% focus into every competition. Hopefully, I can stay consistent and keep my spot at the top this year!”

Why the PSOI National Rankings Matter

First introduced in 2023, the PSOI National Rankings were created to unify Indonesia’s surf competitions, providing a clear, structured system for tracking surfers’ progress and boosting the professionalism of the sport.

Here’s what the rankings aim to do:

βœ… Bring Surf Events Together – A single ranking system for all competition divisions.
βœ… Empower Surfers – Helps surfers track progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and improve their competitive edge.
βœ… Support the Surf Industry – Creates a valuable tool for brands, sponsors, coaches, and clubs by providing clear performance metrics.
βœ… National Team Selection – Acts as a performance-based selection system for the Indonesian national surf team.

Now in its second year, the PSOI National Rankings have already shown their value by:

πŸ“Œ Organizing and tracking all competition results in one clear system.
πŸ“Œ Being recognized by the Indonesian National Surf Team for selecting surfers for international events.
πŸ“Œ Providing key data for coaches, clubs, and sponsors.
πŸ“Œ Improving event management with better registration and qualification processes.

And it’s only getting better! The rankings will continue evolving to become an even stronger tool for pushing Indonesian surfing forward.

Tipi Jabrik, Secretary General of PSOI, summed it up perfectly:

β€œThis ranking system is a huge boost for Indonesian surfing. ASC has been at the forefront of surf development, even before PSOI was established, so this collaboration will push things even further. From junior surfers to senior pros, from grassroots contests to WSL-level events, rankings are key to the future success of Indonesian surfing. Not many countries have a system like thisβ€”so we’re proud to have it!”
