Nanaho Tsuzuki has done it again! She clinched the title of the top-ranked surfer in the QS Asia region for the second consecutive year. As she approached the final event at Phillip Island, her spot at the top was already secured, and she maintained that position through to the end. This achievement not only solidifies her status in the surfing world but also grants her a precious ticket to the Challenger Series.

Q: Congratulations on securing the #1 spot in the QS Asia region for the second year in a row! What does this achievement mean to you, and how does it feel to top the rankings again?

A: I’m truly grateful to everyone who has supported me along this journey. Achieving first place twice is an honor I share with all of you! This accomplishment fills me with pride and serves as motivation as I gear up for the Challenger Series. Representing Asia at this level is more than just an honor; it carries a commitment to grow both technically and mentally.

Q: You’ve been on the Challenger Series before, and now you’re onto it again for 2025. What lessons did you learn from your previous experiences that you’ll carry into this season?

A: I feel I’ve evolved significantly from my past experiences. Most importantly, I’ve learned how crucial it is to stay focused and maintain mental clarity, which has become one of my greatest strengths.

Q: The final event at Phillip Island must have been incredibly intense. How did you maintain your focus and perform at such a high level throughout the season?

A: Phillip Island offered a fantastic atmosphere with excellent weather and waves. To excel under pressure, I really focused on my surfing and enjoyed the competition. No matter the circumstances, I kept my passion for winning alive, learning from each experience, and applying those lessons effectively.

Q: Reflecting on your 2024 season, were there any high points or challenges that stood out to you?

A: The toughest time came when I faced a lengthy phase without wins. The pressures of the Challenger Series were exhilarating yet overwhelming at times. However, with the unwavering support of my family and sponsors, I managed to refine my skills while staying focused on my ambition. Winning two consecutive QS events in Miyazaki was incredibly rewarding, marking my triumph over previous struggles and fueling my determination for future wins, especially at the CS.

Q: What’s next for you? Now that you’ve secured your spot on the Challenger Series, what are your primary goals for the 2025 season?

A: My main goal for the 2025 season is to qualify for the CT. I plan to enhance my skills while fortifying my mental game and adapting to different conditions. I’m aiming high, competing with confidence, and ready to give my best on the world stage!
